I have been looking over the website and I have been confused by a lot of what I see.
1)Why does a lot of the information not match?
a)John Sharp was sixteen but is obit says he was fifteen.
b)On the tribute page, Dana's middle name is Paul and the obit lists it as Hall.

2)It seems the timeline was written for people who were already well-versed on this issue. Who were these people and what were their ties to each other? Who was Marty Smart and what was his relationship to the Sharps? Who was Bo and what was his relationship?

I know some of this might seem like small details and nitpicking but I came across this, and am really interested in what happened but it is almost impossible to make heads or tails of any of the information. Anything anyone could tell me would be of great help.

Cristin, I'll try to help you as much as I can. I've been reading message boards on this subject for years. I've even gone to Keddie to visit the site of the cabin (which is now torn down).

Shoddy journalism is the only explanation I can offer for the discrepancies in the information published in the obituaries in the Quincy area. They've gotten information wrong in regards to this case more than once.

I think John Sharp was 15 when he was murdered.

Marty Smartt was a neighbor of the Sharps. He was married to Marilyn, also known as Gypsy on this board. They lived a couple of cabins away from the Sharp family. At one point Marty had been in the VA hospital (mental facility, I believe) in Reno. That's where he met his slightly older friend, Bo. His last name has been mentioned here as "Boubede," or something like that. However, we're not sure if that's his real name or the correct spelling of his name.

I guess Bo had allegedly asked Sue Sharp out for a drink a time or two. She declined. And some people are in the strange frame of mind that this would be motive to murder Sue and her children. But I just don't buy that as a motive for such a horrific crime. In fact, the motive in this case is still a mystery to a lot of us.

Its seems strange that some people would question if the murders could have been over a child yet not a single person had the balls to question Richards friendship with the victims.

As far as someone like Sweetpea seeing her worst nightmare in this , why not ? She could truly be “ The Real Sugar Baby” in her world, its how I Would like my child 2 see the world.

After Years of looking into things ,I was told that some of guys on Megan’s list have done things as simple as peeing in public ,(any town CA.) just hang out near a bar on a weekend you can find guys peeing in public.

When I studied my own children to see what was the same , it killed me because it would have made Richard in the spot of my own child back in the day, because of my love for my son it interferes with my judgment.

And I don’t even know you guys , but I am not supporting anyone going after the Sheriff

I am new to this site as well. I first learned of these murders earlier today when I was trying to find out what case the movie The Strangers was based on. One of the sites I found mentioned the incident at Keddie Resort, although the circumstances seem quite different I gained an interest in this matter. Anyway, I have spent the last fews hours researching this and probably have many of the same questions you do. I agree that many things are written from an insider's point of view and assume a certain knowlegde of the readers. Anyway, if you or anyone else can provide me with the name of the documentary that was made of these murders, I would greatly appreciate it.
